FDLR

The FDLR is the Democractic Forces for the Liberation of Rwanda. This group has been causing havoc in Rwanada for 20 some odd years. This is the same group we learned about when watching Hotel Rwanada in class. It is primarily made up of Hutus. The group was given until January 2nd of this wear to unarm themselves. Some odd thousand people of the group did not do so, because of that the UN military and Congolease army will be going after those who have yet to surrender. These group is responsible for the many of the killings during the genocide in Rwanda in 1994. They are charged with killing and making women their sex-slaves. The only problem that the UN military and Congolease army face is that the rest of those in the FDLR are in very remote areas that are hard to get to.

What people don't see is, things do get done. Yes this group may have been in existence for the last 20 years, but at least it is finally being stopped. Better now than never. I see a lot of "why isn't anyone doing anything?" in this blog but it does take time for things to get done. We can't just send troops into something we don't have them prepared for. Also when it comes to other countries, the US can't just choose to get involved. They have to be invited into that country before than can enter it. You don't always see the help but a lot of the times, there is someone trying to help.
